Buteaupia
Last night, I watched stand up comedian Michelle Buteau's Buteapia and it was so funny for the third time in a row! The allure is her approachable energy and real-life jokes about being married to a European white boy and having infant twins at the age of 43. The comedy is clean, but ratchet at times, and she drops little morsels of wisdom through out.
"It doesn't matter how the journey goes, as long as you get to the other side. So don't give up anything you want in life. You know and I wish someone woulda told me that."
As I woke up this morning, its odd because her words resonated within me and it's like a shift happened. I feel less edgy within, less anxious if what I want to happen will happen, and is happening in small ways and finally recognized that I felt the truth of her words. So thank you Michelle.
She finally ended her show saying, "It doesn't matter what you do for work or what car you drive, none of that matters, but what matters is your character, we have to be kind to each other and thank you for being so kind to me."
Like omg, how can you not love her? She's like an Oprah Winfrey, Tiffany Haddish and your goofy best friend all wrapped up together who is truly and genuinely looking out for a bitch. Yeeeees si!s (snaps fingers)
