Moving forward

Sometimes

the past will grab at you

because like everything else

it wants to remain alive.

But it can't 

and throws tricks at your mind

and your emotions

insisting that it is still there.

But,

it is not.

As the future mesmerizes you with each sunrise

the path dies

every night.
