In the twinkling of an Eye

Fear and uncertainty are on the rise again...allowing for anxiety to cripple people's bodies and minds. The COVID cases in Belize continue to rise as well as concerns of everyone's well being and safety. The biggest concern being survival and how one's basic need of needing food will be maintained. The government has provided a relief program where one can go to the following link and apply for money and food resources: https://www.covid19.bz/
But what about those who cannot read? Who are disabled? Homeless? And have no one?
My mind goes to the vulnerable and once I see that I can't unsee it. And I don't want to.
It's a sad hope to wish the government would show genuine care and compassion for ALL of its citizens, but it does not. It cares about citizens like itself...the ones participating with its shenanigans and keeping the well oiled machine going that has exploited the vulnerable for too long. That now, the people participate in the corruption and demand for it and feel it is unjust when "the law" is actually practiced. Can it even stop? Only the hearts of men can answer that question, and some are so weak they can't even formulate an answer.
