Quiet
My fingertips rest on the keyboard,
while the fan hums.
My neighbors cackle outside,
blaring music.
I reach for more sounds,
and find a bird;
it chirps to the air with a question
but the wind doesn't answer back.
So the bird sits on a branch
looking to the sky,
waiting;
and amidst the noise
her solitude reflected my own.
