Street Art Festival

The 10th annual Street Art Festival took place on Saturday, February 29th in Belize City; an explosion of sensory overload with crowded streets, live drumming, savory smells and even a lone pelican wandering through the crowds! :)

It was spectacle of artisans from all walks of life who gathered to showcase their work.

My family participated this year displaying paintings, hand-made crafts, conducting live drumming sessions, and even sold tasty sweet bread.

The night culminated with a concert featuring local artists, one which was the Drums Not Guns band, where both of  my brothers are members.

As the sun set, the air cooled and though the rains came the party continued as audiences swayed and sang to the popular tunes of Belizean artists.

Kudos to Karen Vernon for her vision and execution of this amazing festival. Artists just need to be seen and heard, and have a safe space provided in order to do so and we are so grateful for people like Ms. Karen who make it all possible. Thank you!
