An inevitable beginning,
for us to be born.

Can a baby be thankful?

We are all walking where someone else used to walk,
talking where someone else used to talk,
falling in love where someone else fell in love
and where they fell out of it too...

now they are top soil.


An inevitable ending,
for us all.


Can we be thankful even then?

Even as the earth holds us,
during our inevitable beginning and end?

Thankful for this moment,
to reflect.

Thankful for our breath,
to respire.
